Transfer Cases

Remanufactured transfer cases are the largest single category we stock, covering New Process and New Venture (NP205, NP208, NP231, NP233, NP241, NP242, NP243, NP246, NP271, NP273), Borg-Warner (BW1350, BW1354, BW1356, BW4406, BW4412, BW4447), Magna (MP1625/MP1626, MP3023, MP3024) and the BMW ATC series.

What fits what

Coverage runs from 1980 through 2022. Ford is the widest: F-series, Bronco, Bronco II, Ranger, Expedition, Explorer and Lincoln Navigator. Jeep covers Cherokee, Comanche, Wrangler YJ, TJ and JK, Grand Cherokee and Liberty. GM covers K-series, Blazer, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Silverado, Sierra, S10, S15, Colorado and Canyon, plus Cadillac and Hummer. Dodge and RAM run from 1988 W-series pickups through the 2500 and 3500 trucks. There is also BMW xDrive, Mercedes, Nissan, Mazda and Land Rover.

How to identify yours

The tag number on the case is the single most reliable identifier, and it is listed on most units here – Chrysler tags read like 52099310 or 53008207, GM like 15603967 or 15965649, Ford like F1TA-EA or E9TA-MB. Hollander numbers appear as 412-xxx. After that, match input spline count (23, 27, 29, 31, 32 or 34), rear output style (slip yoke versus bolt-on flange or U-joint yoke), front output yoke style (bolt-on, cup, circular or flat flange), whether there is a speedo hole and its 1.75-inch diameter, one- or two-piece tail housing, and single versus two speed. Read the shift notes carefully: many electric-shift units are listed with the shift motor not included, while others include a new one.

Core charge and warranty

Transfer cases are exchange units, so a refundable core charge may apply and your old case goes back as the core. Every unit carries a 6-month limited warranty as standard. On qualifying remanufactured units a 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request and must be arranged at the time of purchase – they are not automatic. Call 440-374-1039 with your tag number if you want it checked before you buy.
