Remanufactured 2.4L engines in this category are all inline four-cylinders, mostly 16-valve DOHC, covering Honda and Acura K24, Toyota and Scion 2AZ, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep, GM Ecotec, Nissan KA24DE and the older Toyota 22R.

What fits what

Coverage runs 1980 through 2024. Honda and Acura listings cover K24A1, K24A4, K24A8, K24Z1, K24Z2, K24Z3, K24Z6, K24Z7 and K24Y2 from 2002 to 2015, fitted to Accord, CR-V, Element, Odyssey and Acura TSX. Toyota and Scion listings cover 2AZFE and 2AZFXE for Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Solara, tC, xB and the Pontiac Vibe, plus the 22R and 22REC for 1980-1984 pickups and 4Runners and the high-performance 22REC build through 10/95. Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep listings cover the FED, ED6 and EDG PZEV codes for 2008-2024 Cherokee, Compass, Dart, 200, Avenger and Journey, the 2008-2009 Caliber Turbo, and a 2001 Sebring, Stratus and Caravan unit. GM listings cover the Ecotec 2.4L for 2009-2012 and a 2011-2017 Chevy and GMC federal emissions engine. Nissan is covered by KA24DE for the 1994-2001 240SX.

How to identify yours

On Honda and Acura the K24 sub-code is stamped on the left bell housing and our listings quote it directly – “left bell housing stamped K24Z2”, “left bell housing stamped K24A8” and so on – with block and crank castings R40, RL5, RZA, PPA and RAA. On Toyota the block casting reads 2AZ or 2AZFE, cast on the driver-side bell housing, and 22R on the older units. Chrysler blocks include 04884658AF, laser-written on the intake side of number 3. GM listings include block castings 12612776, 2782, 2995 and 0428. Read the notes: VTC on the intake, single versus dual exhaust port, SMOG or no SMOG, and federal emissions all appear as separate builds. The 22REC high-performance build is listed with a note that the rear main seal housing will be needed from your core, and carbureted applications require the fuel pump eccentric from the core.

These are exchange units, so a refundable core charge may apply and your old engine goes back as the core. A 6-month limited warranty is standard. On qualifying remanufactured units, a 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request and arranged at the time of purchase – not applied automatically.
