WARRANTY

Variety Engines Warranty

Every engine, transmission, transfer case and differential we sell is inspected before it ships and is covered by a warranty. The level of coverage depends on the unit — standard coverage applies to everything, and extended coverage is available on qualifying remanufactured units.

Standard Coverage — 6-Month Limited Warranty

All engines and transmissions carry a 6-month limited warranty as standard. It runs from the date of purchase and covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service.

What is covered: the internal components of the engine or transmission, including but not limited to the cylinder head, block, crankshaft, camshaft, pistons and gears. If a covered component is found to be defective in materials or workmanship during the warranty period, Variety Engines will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective part.

Extended Coverage — 7 Year / 1,000,000 Mile Warranty (Available)

Qualifying remanufactured engines, transmissions and transfer cases are eligible for an extended 7 year, 1,000,000 mile warranty. This coverage is available on request and must be arranged at the time of purchase — it is not applied automatically.

Eligibility depends on the specific unit and its application. Contact us with your VIN and the part you are ordering and we will confirm whether extended coverage is available for it, what it costs, and what the terms are, before you place the order.

Core Fee Waiver (Available)

Most remanufactured units carry a refundable core charge, returned once your old unit is received and accepted. On qualifying remanufactured products a core fee waiver is available, removing the need to pay and reclaim the core deposit.

As with extended coverage, the waiver is available on request and must be arranged at the time of purchase. Ask us before ordering to confirm whether your unit qualifies.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Effective date. Cover runs from the date of purchase, as shown on the sales invoice.
  2. Normal use and service. Cover applies to units used under normal operating conditions. Misuse, neglect or unauthorized modification may void it.
  3. Installation by a qualified mechanic. The unit must be installed by a certified automotive or marine mechanic to qualify. Documentation of the installation may be required.
  4. Regular maintenance. You are responsible for maintenance as set out in the product manual, including any specified break-in procedure and early first oil change. Failure to follow the recommended schedule may void coverage — keep your receipts.
  5. Correct diagnosis. Where the original unit failed because of an external cause — a cooling, oiling or fuelling fault — that cause must be corrected before the replacement is fitted.

Exclusions

Cover does not extend to damage resulting from accidents, improper installation, lack of maintenance, use of incorrect fluids, overheating caused by an uncorrected external fault, or any alteration not authorized by Variety Engines. Labor for removal or installation is not covered under standard coverage.

How to Make a Claim

  1. Contact us promptly at sales@varietyengines.com or on 440-374-1039. Provide the original sales invoice and a detailed description of the issue.
  2. Inspection. We may request an inspection of the unit to assess the claim. Shipping costs for inspection may be the responsibility of the owner.
  3. Repair or replacement. If a defect is confirmed, Variety Engines will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective part.

Questions Before You Buy

If you want to know exactly what coverage applies to a specific unit — including whether extended coverage or a core fee waiver is available — contact our team with your VIN before ordering. It is much easier to arrange up front than after the fact.
