How to identify yours
Honda stamps or casts the engine code where you can reach it, and it is the only reliable identifier. On most K-series engines it is stamped on the left bell housing – our listings quote exact locations such as “left bell housing stamped K24Z2” and “left bell housing stamped K20A3”. On J-series V6s the block casting is on the left or driver-side bell housing and is quoted with the family in brackets, for example “left side bell housing (J35A6)”. Block castings you will see here include R70, R40, RAA, RL5, RZA, P13, PVK, P2E, P72, P8F, PM3, PT0, P0A, PAA and PGE. Head castings include P8E, RGL, RDJ, RGM and PPA3; crank castings include R40, R70, RDJ, P0F and PGK. Read the notes for VTEC, i-VTEC, VTC on the intake, and whether the engine is VCM or non-VCM – that distinction matters on the J35 V6s.
Core charge and warranty
Exchange units – a refundable core charge may apply and your old engine returns as the core. Every engine carries a 6-month limited warranty as standard. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying remanufactured units and must be arranged at the time of purchase; they are not automatic. Call 440-374-1039 with the code off your bell housing.
