NP273

The NP273 is a transfer case family listed here under Transfer Cases. Every unit on this page is remanufactured and every one is electric shift. They are separated by input spline count, exposed input length, rear output style and tag number, so the model name on its own will not get you the right case.

What fits what

Ford coverage includes 1999-2003 and 2003-2005 Excursion/Super Duty, 1999-2005 Super Duty, 2006-2010 Excursion/Super Duty, 2008-2010 F250/F350, 2008-2010 F-250 and F-350, and 2006-2010 Ford. Two Ford listings are titled by input spline instead of by model: 1999-2003 Various Ford with 31 Spline Input and 2003-2005 Various Ford with 34 Spline Input. RAM coverage includes 2003-2005 RAM 2500/3500, 2006-2011 RAM series, 2006-2012 RAM series and 2007-2012 RAM 3500. There is one Chrysler listing for a 2007-2012 manual transmission application, and one GM listing for 2005-08 Topkick and Kodiak, which is remote mount with three flanged yokes.

How to identify yours

Input spline count is the first split. Cases here are listed with 23, 24, 29, 31 or 34 spline inputs. On the RAM and Chrysler units the exposed input length separates otherwise similar cases: 0.84 inch on the 23 spline, 1.55 inch on the 29 spline. Rear output is either a 34 spline slip yoke or a 34 spline bolt-on yoke. Shift shaft shape also matters on those units; some are star shaped and some are round with two flat spots. Match the tag number on your case to the tag numbers in the listing, for example 52105650AB, 52123018AA, 7C34-DA or 1C34-LA. Hollander numbers listed here include 412-419, 412-497, 412-499, 412-588, 412-591, 412-616, 412-617, 412-621, 412-622, 412-624, 412-633 and 412-635, and vendor SKUs run in the RTC273 series. Read the shift motor line: some listings state the shift motor is not included, and others state that a new shift motor is included.

Remanufactured units carry a 6-month limited warranty as standard. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying remanufactured units.
