V6 listings include 1MZFE, 3MZFE and 3MZFE Hybrid, 2GRFE, 2GRFSE, 2GRFXE, 4GRFSE, 3GRFSE and 1GRFE. V8 listings include 2UZFE, 3UZFE, 1URFE, 1URFSE, 2URFSE, 2URGSE and the 3URFE/3URFBE i-Force. Vehicles include Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Corolla, Matrix, Camry, Prius, Scion iQ and tC, Pontiac Vibe, and Lexus GS300, GX460, IS-F and LX570.

How to identify yours

Toyota casts the engine family code directly on the block, and that is what you should match. Codes quoted on these listings include 22R, 1AZ, 2AZ, 2AZFE, 1MZ, 3MZFE, 1GR, 2GR, 4GR, 2UZ, 3UZ, 1UR, 1UR-FE, 2URFSE, 3UR-FE, 3UR-FBE, 1NZ, 1NZFE, 2ZR, 2TR and 3RZ. Casting locations we publish include the driver-side bell housing, the passenger and right-side bell housing, the front of the valley block edge, the exhaust side front and above the water pump. Because Toyota changed specifications mid-year, many listings are dated rather than year-ranged – 8/99-9/04, 11/00-2007, 1/04-3/09 and similar – so check your build date on the door jamb sticker. Read the notes too: VVT, dual VVT, VVT on intake and non-VVT variants are all stocked separately, and some listings carry a note that use of TRD equipment voids the warranty.

Core charge and warranty

Exchange units – a refundable core charge may apply and your old engine goes back as the core. A 6-month limited warranty is standard on every engine. For qualifying remanufactured units, a 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request and arranged at the time of purchase; neither is applied automatically.
