Parking Lifts
Parking lifts stack vehicles vertically so one garage bay holds two or three cars. They are storage lifts first: the priority is a small footprint, a low overall height and safe long-term holding, rather than the service access a two-post gives. Capacities run from about 6,000 lb per level up to 12,000 lb on the double-wide and tri-level models, and single, double-wide and tri-level configurations are all listed. BendPak, iDEAL, Tuxedo and AutoStacker are stocked.
How to choose
Ceiling height decides this purchase. You need the height of the car underneath, plus the platform thickness, plus the height of the car on top, plus clearance. Measure to the lowest obstruction in the bay, including garage door tracks, opener rails, lights and beams, not to the peak of the ceiling. If the garage door opening is the limit rather than the ceiling, measure that too. Then check overall length and width against the bay, remembering you need room to open doors on the lower vehicle. Decide between a four-post style parking lift and a low-profile stacker: stackers keep overall height down for tight garages, while four-post models are easier to drive onto and can double as service platforms with bridge jacks. Some models are freestanding and some must be anchored, so check the requirement and the slab specification for your model. Electrical supply is commonly 208-230V single phase, with 110V options on some units.
Installation, freight and what is included
Parking lifts ship crated by freight and need a dock or liftgate. Assembly is a bolt-together job followed by hydraulic and cable setup per the manual, and electrical hookup should be done by a licensed electrician. Drip trays, caster kits, approach ramps and extension kits are separate listings unless a bundle is named in the title. New equipment carries a 6-month limited warranty as standard. The 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and core-fee waiver available on request are limited to qualifying remanufactured drivetrain units and do not apply to parking lifts.
