Alignment Lifts

Alignment lifts are four-post or scissor lifts built with the flat, level, in-plane runways an alignment machine needs, plus front turnplates and rear slip plates so the suspension can settle. If you are adding alignment work to a bay, this is the lift the aligner sits on. Capacities here run from about 9,000 lb up to 22,000 lb, covering cars and light trucks through to heavy-duty open-front truck alignment. BendPak, Hofmann, Atlas, Rotary, Challenger, Forward, Autel, iDEAL and Dannmar are stocked in both four-post and scissor configurations.

How to choose

Pick the format first. Four-post alignment lifts are drive-on, hold a vehicle steady and give the most working room underneath. Scissor alignment lifts recess flush or surface-mount, take less floor space and clear the bay for other work when lowered. Open-front designs are the heavy-duty answer for long trucks. Confirm rack length against your longest vehicle, and check that the wheelbase range covers both your shortest and longest work. Check whether turnplates and rear slip plates are included and how many, since some models list them as an option. Rolling bridge jacks are needed for wheels-free work and are bundled with some models here. Electrically, most run 208-230V single phase. Alignment lifts also need a slab level within the manufacturer’s tolerance, because the runway plane is what the aligner references, so read the concrete specification before ordering. Installation, freight and what is included

These ship crated by freight and need a dock or liftgate. Flush-mount scissor models require a recess cut into the slab, which is a construction job to plan before delivery rather than after. Anchoring, leveling and electrical hookup are buyer-arranged and should follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Many models listed here are ALI Certified. That certification is held by the manufacturer and attaches to the lift model; Variety Engines sells those models and is not itself ALI certified or accredited.
