NP263/NP263HD

This category holds remanufactured transfer cases carrying the model numbers NP263 and NP263HD, under Transfer Cases. Six units are listed. Most are GM, and every one of them is an electric shift case with a 3 position dash switch and option code NP1. The listings separate on input spline count and on whether a shift motor is included.

What fits what

GM coverage includes two units for 2001-2007 GM pickups, one with a 32 spline input and one with a 29 spline front input, plus one for 2001-2002 GM with 29 spline input and one for 2003-2007 GM with the 4L80E transmission. Two further listings are branded Ford: a BW4469 listed for 2015-2020 Ford and a BW4464 listing. Both carry the model number NP263HD in their data, with the same NP1 option code and dash switch description. The BW4464 listing is titled as manual shift with a front bolt on yoke and rear slip yoke, while its own application notes say electric shift. That contradiction is in the source data, so call before ordering that one.

How to identify yours

Start with the input spline count. The 32 spline input case is vendor SKU RTC263GHD-2, with a 32 spline rear output and a female front output shaft, and its title carries the assembly number 12576351. The 29 spline front input case is vendor SKU RTC263GXHD-2, with a 31 spline rear slip output at 1.608 outside diameter and a female front output shaft. Neither includes a shift motor. A new shift motor is included with RTC263GXHD-2M for 2001-2002, RTC263GHD-2M1 for the 4L80E application, and the two Ford listings, RTC4469F-1 and RTC4465F-4. Hollander numbers run 412-455, 412-504, 412-585, 412-602 and 412-609 with other number UMT139-5 on the 32 spline and HD units, and 412-456 and 412-540 with other number UMT139-3 on the 29 spline units.

Core charge and warranty

These are exchange units, so a refundable core charge may apply. No amount is published, so call for it. A 6-month limited warranty is standard on remanufactured drivetrain units. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying remanufactured units, must be arranged at the time of purchase, and are not automatic.
