MP3023

The MP3023 is a two speed transfer case used by General Motors and by Dodge and Jeep. This category holds seven remanufactured exchange units under Transfer Cases. Most are electric shift, and the listings are separated by input spline count and by whether the shift motor comes with the case. One listing carries the model number BW1356 in its data even though the title reads MP3023, so check it against your own tag.

What fits what

On the GM side the split is by input spline. The 27 spline input units are listed for GM 2007-2013 P/U and for General Motors with Auto Trac, vendor SKUs RTC3023G-1 and RTC3023G-1M. The 32 spline input units are listed for GM 2008-2013 1500, vendor SKUs RTC3023G-2 and RTC3023G-2M, the second described as 2008-2013 GM1500 E-Shift Autotrack. All four are Autotrack Option NQH with a 32 spline rear output and an internal spline front output. The unit listed as 2015-2017 GM, vendor SKU RTC3023G-3, is manual shift with a PTO opening, a slip yoke style rear output shaft and a bolt on front output yoke.

Two Chrysler group units are also here, both electric shift and both including the shift motor and position sensor: one listed for 2011-2022 Durango and Grand Cherokee, active 4X4, two speed case, and one listed for Jeep 2011-2013 Grand Cherokee, two speed active 4WD.

How to identify yours

Work from the tag number on the case, then confirm with the Hollander number. The 27 spline GM units carry Hollander 412-601 and 412-801 with other number UMT141-1, the 32 spline units Hollander 412-725 and 412-807 with UMT141-7, and the 2015-2017 GM listing Hollander 412-202B with UMT416-1. The Durango and Grand Cherokee unit lists Hollander 412-00751 with tag numbers in the 52853664 series, and the 2011-2013 Grand Cherokee unit lists Hollander 412-750 with tag numbers 52853665AB and 52853665AD. On the GM units the shift motor is not included unless the listing says a new shift motor is included.

These are remanufactured exchange units, so a refundable core charge may apply. Call for the amount. A 6-month limited warranty is standard. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying remanufactured units, must be arranged at the time of purchase, and are not automatic.
