The NP205 is a gear driven transfer case with a cast iron case, and ten remanufactured units are listed here under Transfer Cases. Coverage spans GM, Ford and Dodge trucks. The vendor SKU tells you which: RTC205G for the GM units, RTC205F for Ford and RTC205D for Dodge.
What fits what
Five of the ten are Chevy and GMC K-series. One is for 1970-75, SKU RTC205G-2, Hollander 412-111. Four are for 1980-83: RTC205G-3, RTC205G-4, RTC205G-5 and RTC205G-6. Two are Ford F-150 and Bronco, a 1976-77 remote mount unit, RTC205F-1, Hollander 412-104, and a 1977-79 direct mount unit, RTC205F-2, Hollander 412-105. Three are Dodge: the 1980-87 W-series, RTC205D-2, Hollander 412-163; the 1989-93 D-series with automatic transmission, RTC205D-4, Hollander 412-219; and the 1989-93 D-series with manual transmission, RTC205D-3, Hollander 412-228.
How to identify yours
Input spline count and input style do most of the work. One GM unit is listed with a 10 External Spline Input, tag numbers 14008224 and 14069802, Hollander 412-158. The 1970-75 unit is listed with a 27 External Spline Input (TH350), tags 3990934 and 14053826. Two 1980-83 units are listed with a 32 Spline Input, Internal Splines On Input and 1.5 Inch Exposed Length On Input Shaft, one with a rear slip output yoke and tag number 746060, the other with a fixed rear output, tags 14008299 and 14069803, Hollander 412-160.
The Ford 1977-79 unit is listed with a 31 Spline Input and Part Time operation, tag numbers in the D7TA, D8TA and D9TA series. The 1976-77 Ford is remote mount, tags D3TA-AA and D7TA-CA. On the Dodge side, the W-series and the D-series automatic are both listed with a 23 Spline External Splined Input and With Dana 60 Front Axle, while the D-series manual is a 29 Spline External Splined Input, tags 4428351 and 52097602. Several GM listings also add Check For Threaded Mounting Holes and an Hour Glass Shaped Adapter.
