Six remanufactured 4.0L V6 engines are listed here, under Engines. Three are Toyota 1GRFE units, and the rest cover Ford, Mazda and Mercury, Dodge, and a Nissan and Suzuki VQ40DE. All six are six cylinder V blocks. Two of the Toyota titles show a bare five digit number, 42314 and 40759, in place of a date range. That is a fault in the source data, not a model code, so do not read those as years.

What fits what

The Ford Mazda Mercury 4.0L V6 is listed for 2007-2011. The Dodge 4.0L V6 is listed for 2007-2011 and also appears under Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. The Nissan Suzuki VQ40DE 4.0L V6 covers 2005-2018. Of the Toyota 1GRFE engines, one is listed for 11/02-8/04 and the other two carry the corrupted number in the title, so call for their coverage. Two of the Toyota listings carry an explicit note that use of TRD equipment voids the warranty. If your vehicle runs TRD equipment, raise that with us before you buy.

How to identify yours

All three Toyota 1GRFE engines are DOHC, 24 valve, with block casting 1GR and head casting 1GR RH, and the casting location is given as the right side bell housing. They separate on vendor SKU: 858, 858A and 858B. The 858B unit is the one noted as intake VVT with AIR. The Ford Mazda Mercury engine is SOHC, 12 valve, vendor SKU DFKH, block casting 1L2E or 5L2E, head casting 6L2E or 8L2E, and is noted as having no balance shafts. The Dodge engine is SOHC, 24 valve, vendor SKU DDHE, head casting 4792728AA, with the casting location given as left side bottom. The Nissan Suzuki VQ40DE is DOHC, 24 valve, vendor SKU 349, block casting VQ40DE EA2, with castings found at the bell housing and the bottom of the block.

Core charge and warranty

These are exchange units and a refundable core charge may apply. No core amount is published anywhere, so call for it. Remanufactured drivetrain units carry a 6-month limited warranty. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying remanufactured units, must be arranged at the time of purchase, and are not automatic.
