This is the 1.5L bracket of our remanufactured engine catalogue, under Engines. Eleven engines are listed and every one that carries a block type is a four cylinder L block.

What fits what

Honda coverage is seven engines: a D15Z1, a D15B8 and a D15B7, all for 1992-1995; an L15A1 for 2006-2008; an L15A7 for 2009-2014; an LEA1 for 2010-2016; and a 2012-2015 Honda Civic and Acura ILX LEA2. Toyota and Scion coverage is a 1NZFE for 8/99-1/04, a second 1NZFE listing, and a 1NZFXE for 1/04-3/09. The last listing is a 2014-2017 Ford Fusion and Escape engine.

One Toyota title carries a bare five digit number, 42739, where a date range should be. That is a defect in the source data, not a model code or a year, so call for the coverage on that listing.

How to identify yours

The three 1992-1995 Honda D series engines share a year range and differ in the detail, so use the vendor SKU and the valve count. The D15B8 is vendor SKU 518G, block casting D15B8 or PM3, SOHC with 8 valves. The D15B7 is vendor SKU 518F, block casting D15B7 or PM3, SOHC with 16 valves. The D15Z1 is vendor SKU 533, block casting D15Z1 or P07, head casting PO7-1, cast at the left bell housing bottom or the right bell housing; no valve count is listed for it.

The later Honda engines are separated by block casting: the L15A1 is vendor SKU 564 with block casting RME, and the L15A7 is vendor SKU 564A with block casting RP3. The LEA1, vendor SKU 571, is listed with fuel type gasoline hybrid electric, as is the Toyota 1NZFXE, vendor SKU 854B with block casting 1NZ. The two 1NZFE listings are vendor SKU 854 and 854C, and the 854C carries the note V.V.T. on Intake.

These are exchange units, so a refundable core charge may apply. We do not publish a core amount, so call for it. Remanufactured units carry a 6-month limited warranty. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying remanufactured units, must be arranged at the time of purchase, and are not automatic.
