Used Engines
These are used engine assemblies pulled from donor vehicles. They are used units, not remanufactured. Current stock covers late-model Ford applications including Mustang, F-150, Explorer and Expedition, along with Mercedes-Benz E-Class and C-Class, Lincoln, BMW, Audi, Dodge and Acura. A used assembly is the sensible route when a remanufactured unit is not available for the application, when the vehicle’s value does not justify a remanufactured price, or when you need a complete assembly rather than a long block.
How to choose
Because these are used units, the detail matters more than it does with a remanufactured engine. Donor mileage, grade and the components included with each assembly are confirmed per unit before shipping, so ask for those specifics on the exact engine you are considering. Match by engine code and build date range rather than by model year alone, because manufacturers change engines mid-year and a same-year engine from a different build can differ in sensors, mounts, intake and accessory drive. Establish before ordering what comes attached, since intake and exhaust manifolds, injectors, sensors, alternator, power steering pump, flexplate and oil pan are sometimes included and sometimes not, and that changes the total cost of the job. Plan on new gaskets, seals, filters, belts, thermostat and fluids regardless, and diagnose whatever killed the original engine before the replacement goes in.
Warranty, shipping and support
Used engine assemblies carry a 6-month limited warranty as standard and ship tracked across the US. The 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and core-fee waiver available on request apply only to qualifying remanufactured units, so they do not apply to used assemblies. If you want that longer coverage, look at the remanufactured engine range instead. Engines ship on a pallet by freight, so check for damage before signing and store the unit upright. Call 440-374-1039 with the VIN, the engine code and what the engine is going into, and we will confirm the unit is right before it ships.
