What fits what

All eight are Ford F150 front carriers, split into two application groups. Four cover 1983-1991 or 1983-1987 F150. Four are titled Dana 44 IFS Front Carrier Assembly and cover 1992-1996 or 1992-1994 F150.

How to identify yours

Two things pick the right carrier: the ratio and the vendor SKU.

The SKU prefix tells you which group you are in. RAA440-1282 with a letter suffix is the earlier group, covering 1983-1991 and 1983-1987. RAA440-1289 with a letter suffix is the IFS group, covering 1992-1996 and 1992-1994. The suffix letter then selects the ratio, and the letters do not mean the same ratio across the two groups. A is 3.07 in both, but B is 3.50 in the 1282 group and 3.31 in the 1289 group, and C is 3.54 in both while D is 4.09 in the 1282 group and 4.11 in the 1289 group. Read the whole SKU.

Ratio is the part you cannot get wrong. The ratios stocked are 3.07, 3.31, 3.50, 3.54, 4.09 and 4.11. Your ratio has to match what is already in the vehicle, so confirm it before ordering rather than working from the model year. Note that 3.50 and 3.54 both appear here, and so do 4.09 and 4.11.

Core charge and warranty

These are remanufactured exchange units. A refundable core charge may apply and no core amount is published, so call for the figure. Remanufactured drivetrain units carry a 6-month limited warranty as standard. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying units, must be arranged at the time of purchase, and are not automatic.
