Chrysler 7.25 is an axle family under Differentials. Everything listed here is a remanufactured Chrysler 7.25″ IFS front carrier assembly for the Dodge Dakota, sold as a complete carrier rather than a gear set. Seven units are listed, split across two year ranges and four gear ratios, all at the same price. The ring gear diameter on every one of them is 7.25.

What fits what

Coverage falls into two groups taken straight from the product titles. For 1987-1992 Dodge Dakota there are four carriers: 2.94, 3.23, 3.55 and 3.90. For 1993-1996 Dodge Dakota there are three: 3.23, 3.55 and 3.90. The 2.94 ratio appears only in the 1987-1992 group. If your truck falls in one of those two ranges, the ratio is what decides which unit you order, not the year alone.

How to identify yours

The gear ratio has to match the rear axle in the truck or the vehicle will not drive correctly, so confirm your ratio before ordering. Then use the vendor SKU, because the SKUs are organised so the year range and the ratio are both readable. The 1987-1992 carriers run RAA440-1306A for 2.94, RAA440-1306B for 3.23, RAA440-1306C for 3.55 and RAA440-1306D for 3.90. The 1993-1996 carriers run RAA440-1307A for 3.23, RAA440-1307B for 3.55 and RAA440-1307C for 3.90. Note the pattern: 1306 is the earlier range and 1307 is the later one. No tag numbers, Hollander numbers or locker options are recorded on these listings, so if you need something confirmed beyond the ratio, ring gear diameter and application, call rather than assume.

These are remanufactured exchange units. A refundable core charge may apply, and the amount is not published, so call to confirm it before you order. A 6-month limited warranty is standard on remanufactured drivetrain units. A 7-year / 1,000,000-mile extended warranty and a core fee waiver are available on request for qualifying units, must be arranged at the time of purchase, and are not automatic.
